Obama in Tanzania

Barack Obama in Tanzania

Barack Obama was warmly welcomed at the Dar-es-salaam airport in Tanzania on the 1st-07-2013. This was one of the last countries to visit on his African tour.

Barack Obama was welcomed with his family Michelle Obama and children. They were met at the airport by the Tanzanian president, Jikaya Kikwete and business executives. They were entertained with a traditional musical band on their arrival.

The streets were filled with fans and a lot of people queued on the streets stretching there arms happy to meet the US president.

Barack Obama also met George Bush in Dar-es-salaam with his wife Laura Bush who was in town for a conference on African women.

Obama and Bush met at the US embassy on Tuesday. They were apart of a wreath-laying ceremony in memory of the  people who lost their lives at the 1998 US bombing.

Obama’s keen interest to help Tanzania is by trading rather than aid. “Ultimately the goal here is Africa to build Africa for Africans”. Said the president. “ And our job is to be a partner in that process.

I personally believe that’s a good plan for our country. We have a lot of talented young men and women who want to work hard and would love the opportunity to do that. My views are that there are so many people who want to work in Tanzania but there aren’t enough jobs. However I am pleased that Obama took the time to go Tanzania.

I gathered most of my information from online towards this article and My personal views are shared.
